There is a popular quote or cliche: “Life is a journey, not a destination.”
DESTINATION – The place to which one is going or directed. 2. The ultimate purpose for which something is created or intended. JOURNEY – travel or voyage – how to reach the place to which one is going or directed.
Should the quote be “life is the journey towards a destination”? With emphasis on the journey? Destinations can be 1) heaven to be with creator; 2) life goals; 3) project / work goals; and 4) places. Journey consists of planning, implementation, evaluation and continual improvement. With emphasis on journey meaning 1) how you respond to the challenges in each phase of the journey and remain standing travelling or voyaging; and 2) how you reach your destination places.
Readings:
We are not meant to rush through life… it’s about savouring every moment of each day. It’s about how we learn the lessons along the way. It’s about the hardships and the challenges that we are sometimes faced with and how we work through them. It’s about the joy and happiness that we experience. It’s about learning what self-care is all about. It’s about uncovering who we truly are. Life is about so many things and when we rush through it we miss the beauty it has to offer with each breath we take. It is a journey well worth exploring.- http://suzanne-mcrae.com/2012/04/27/life-is-a-journey/#.WxS19nqFPIV
